Day 335 (7:43) – Desensitization with Exercise Ball
Working with the Exercise Ball working on his response to Environmental Pressure and Physical Pressure that has no true intention (not asking him to move with the pressure of the ball on him). Simulating a rider.
Day 337 (6:37) – Pushing A Ball
After making sure your horse is comfortable with having the ball all around them you can teach them to push a ball, this works on having your intention clearly felt, and directional casting them on the ground. Also builds confidence and can be put to use later on for herding cattle.
Day 339 (7:47) – Figure Eight Review
Working on the Figure Eight to work on Directional Casting, Drive and Draw.
Day 342 (6:49) – Push The Ball
Using a bigger ball (which is slightly deflated) to get Steel confident with pushing the ball, and having it touch his legs.
Day 344 (12:09) – Lateral Over Poles On A L
Working on having Steele work Laterally both to the left and right over poles and around a turn.
Day 346 (7:13) – Desensitization with a New Tarp
Making sure Steele can transfer his previous experiences into new ones with a different colored tarp.
Day 349 (10:23) – Lateral Work Over Poles on A L
Working on having Steele work Laterally both to the left and right over poles and around a turn – adding distance away.
Day 351 (8:00) – Laying Down
Reviewing the Lay Down Cues, Steele struggles a bit as it has been awhile but gets it with a bit of assistance.
Day 353 (10:32) – Push The Ball
A new bigger ball to work with and work on tracking the ball.
Day 356 (5:35) – Desensitization With Ball
Having the ball rolls on and move around Steele preparation for a rider.
Day 358 (6:11) – Push The Ball
Working on advancing the expectation with pushing the ball.
Day 360 (12:30) – Circling
Troubleshooting when they have more Go than Whoa, and changes of direction. Use your environment to help them out.
Day 363 (9:25) – Lateral Work Over Poles
Advancing his Lateral Work over Poles – adding in two turns (where he needs to move more hip with one and more shoulder with the other).
